Alyssa & Ben

Just finishing Ben and Alyssa's wedding, which was a great time. They were a awesome couple. They have amazing friends and come from great families.

One of the cool things I get to see shooting weddings are those little moments when the new bride and groom are looking at each other and the room and everybody around them just kind of fades away. It's a great moment, and I love it when I can capture it in a shot, but personally, it's just kind of warms my heart to see. Ben and Alyssa were like that when the looked at each other, you could just feel that power, that emotion.

The wedding was at the Olde Saint Ann's Church and the reception was at the Steeplegate Inn in Davenport. They (and just about everyone at the wedding) are alumni of the University of Iowa and the wedding was on the day Hawkeyes played Ohio State for the Big Ten championship -- so everyone was listening to a radio or checking scores on cell phones and every now and then a cheer would go up. The Hawkeyes ended up losing in overtime, but nobody let it get them down and the party was a great time.
